Plot and Storyboard

Song- Twice, Catifish and the Bottleman

Setting- House, Field/park

Props- Balloons, sparklers, cups, phone, clothes, stereo, makeup

The video opens with a wide angle establishing shot showing two girls sat on a bed on their phones, they will be dressed in casual clothes, jeans and a t-shirt, there is no sound apart from the tapping of their key boards on their phones. This diegetic sound will be filmed on a sound boom and added in the editing process. After 10 seconds one of their phones will sound as they receive a message “Party tonight”, the message will flash up onto the screen whilst the girls reaction to the message is being filmed in a mid close up. The next part of the video shows the two girls trying to find an outfit for the party, they are lip syncing to the song, dancing around the room and messing about. Close ups of clothes flying around the room and building up in piles on the floor, as well as over the shoulder shots of the girls looking in the mirror. There are jump shots which alternatively cut between the two girls singing and them applying makeup, trying on clothes etc. When the chorus of the song starts a jump cut occurs which shows a pan down of the two girls walking up to the party, there backs towards the camera with the house in focus. A close up of them pressing the doorbell. The door opens as they are greeted by a friend who is very excited. A jump cut shows different people within the party, the shots will include silhouettes of couples in the hallway kissing, groups of people playing drinking games, outside smoking, people inside dancing. While we will be filming the footage on a camera with a tripod we will also be allowing the cast to film from their phones, using snapchat, so that we can edit the use of filters and vlogging techniques into the music video. Throughout the party section different people are focused on, those that are more confident, and those which may be feeling pressured in the party situation. Towards the end of the song the party leads outside to a park, everyone plays with sparklers, spelling out words, dancing around with them. There will be a few people playing on the park, showing the fun childish side of youth. The music video ends with a wide angle shot of the friends lying around on the floor staring up at the stars. A shot reverse shot will be used to show the friends laying on the ground and the view of the stars from their opinion. The screen will fade to black and the end credits such as cast, production team and audio source will roll across the screen.

  1. it works you could however expand on the story board given that most videos have numerous cuts. also tighten up on your camera and editing terminologies.
